Urban Land Institute

The Urban Land Institute is one of the world's oldest and most respected nonprofit organizations focused on responsible land use and sustainable real estate development.

Through Home Front Communications, I contributed to design for the digital presence for the ULI Europe Conference — the organization's flagship annual European gathering, bringing together 800+ senior real estate and built environment leaders from 30+ countries.

The engagement was ongoing: page templates were initially designed for the 2016 Paris conference and updated annually thereafter.

  • The ULI Europe Conference required a digital presence that could serve a senior, international professional audience — investors, developers, architects, urban planners, and financial leaders — while reflecting the organization's authority and institutional credibility. The design challenge was balancing accessibility for first-time visitors with the depth of content and navigation that returning delegates expected. Each annual iteration required design updates that maintained visual continuity with the established ULI brand while reflecting the new host city and conference theme.

    • Dennis T. // Interactive Art Director

    • Daryle M. // Digital Art Director

  • Delivered design direction for the conference site through Home Front Communications, working within ULI's established brand standards while adapting the visual language to each conference year's theme and location. Focused on information hierarchy and navigability for a multi-track conference experience — ensuring delegates could efficiently access programme information, registration, sponsorship details, and logistical planning across desktop and mobile. Design assets were handed off to a development contractor for build. The ongoing annual engagement required balancing consistency with each year's refresh, maintaining a recognizable visual identity while signaling a distinct new event.

  • Delivered conference site design for one of Europe's premier real estate leadership gatherings — a platform serving senior decision-makers from across the global built environment industry. The ongoing nature of the engagement demonstrated the ability to manage a long-term institutional client relationship, maintain brand consistency across annual iterations, and adapt design direction to evolving conference themes and locations. The ULI engagement, alongside the Census Bureau and Alliance for Excellent Education work completed through Home Front Communications, represents a demonstrated capability in designing for mission-driven organizations and high-credibility institutional audiences — directly relevant to federal and nonprofit design strategy contexts.
